Chess

In the 2021/2022 school year we introduced chess to Tallaght CNS.

All children from 3rd class to 6th class learned to play the game in school using the Ficheall https://ficheall.ie/ chess beginner lessons.

By the end of our chess year we were able to run tournaments in school with prizes for the top chess players.

 

Chess Club

Tallaght CNS is also the home of Tallaght Chess Club. Our school principal setup the club in conjunction with Citywise Education. In the 2021/2022 school year Tallaght Chess run ran for two six week periods.

Children from all across Tallaght are welcome to take part in the club but it has been particularly popular with the children who attend Tallaght CNS.
